Laderas de San Juan

San Juan, PR -  Unbuilt

A family of three decided to enhance their entrance, not only for aesthetic purposes, but also for functionality. The garage is located in proximity to the main entrance, but not structurally integrated. The minor design intervention prevents the need to use an umbrella from the garage to the main door. An exposed concrete portico visually guides you to a set of steps followed by an extension of a concrete roof with pergolas supported by round steel black columns.  The main steps were enlarged from the original ones, creating a main axis towards the frontal door. The step underneath the concrete roof extension forms a platform with an integrated planter and seating area. Adjacent to the frontal door, a water feature was incorporated for visual purposes as well as to enjoy the relaxing sound of the water flowing from the wall with a low pressure veil.
